Nigeria has cybersecurity talent. The hackathon was set up to show it, and the website had to bring that talent in.
As part of its 2021 Cybersecurity Conference, the American Business Council Nigeria and private sector partners hosted a hackathon to show the country's capacity in cybersecurity and the importance of a cybersecurity framework.
Xorek Studios was contracted to design and develop the website that explained the competition and, most importantly, registered applicants. The same address has since hosted later editions of the hackathon, including the 4th edition in 2024.
Overview, Eligibility, Application, Selection, Rules & Disclaimer, Sponsors & Partners.
The brief
The hackathon needed one place that explained the competition in full: what it is, who can enter, how to apply, how winners are chosen and the rules, with sponsors and partners credited. Above all, it had to collect applications from eligible participants before the deadline.
Our approach
We organised the site as a single, clearly signposted page. A menu jumps straight to Overview, Eligibility, Application, Selection, Rules & Disclaimer and Sponsors & Partners, and an Apply Now button stays in view.
The opening screen leads with the event dates and what the winners receive, so visitors know at once what is at stake and when.
